Description of Course
Bachelor of Industrial Studies Programme is especially designed and offered by the Faculty of Engineering Technology for those who are engaged in a particular industry or intend to join the industry. The entry qualification for this programme is three passes at the G.C.E. (A/L) examination – local or equivalent. The A/L subjects required vary with the specialization (read Admission for more details). The minimum duration of the programme is four (04) academic years.
Entry Requirements
A person seeking admission to the programme leading to the award of the Degree of Bachelor of Industrial Studies Honours in the specialisations in Apparel Production and Management, or Textile Manufacture or Fashion Design and Product Development shall be required to have, 1.obtained three passes in any stream, at the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) Examination, Sri Lanka, in one sitting or, 2.completed the Certificate in Industrial Studies in Apparel technology offered by the Open University of Sri Lanka or, 3.completed the Advanced Certificate in Industrial Studies in Apparel Technology offered by the Open University of Sri Lanka or, 4.completed the Advanced Certificate in Apparel Technology offered by the Open University of Sri Lanka or A person seeking admission to the programme leading to the award of the Degree of Bachelor of Industrial Studies Honours in the specialisation in Agriculture shall be required to have, 1.obtained three passes from Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Agriculture at the General Certificate in Education (Advanced Level) Examination, Sri Lanka in one sitting, or 2.completed foundation programme in Science offered by the Open University of Sri Lanka including Biology as a course or, 3.Secured an equivalent or higher qualification acceptable to the Senate.
