Description of Course
A biomedical scientist is a professional who is trained in biology, especially in the context of medicine. Their main target is to find new ways to find cure, treat or prevent disease by developing advanced Preventive measures, diagnostic tools or new therapeutic strategies.
A Biomedical Scientist in a clinical setting may engage in activities such as
* Analyzing microbial cultures for diagnostic or research purposes
* Identifying blood groups
* Analyzing different specimens of for chemical constituents using manual and automated testing procedures.
* Interpreting results of a medical reports aiding in the diagnosis and prognosis of a patient
* Monitoring the effects of treatment and medication
* Maintaining accurate records
* Writing medical reports
* Engage in research and development activities relevant to a particular discipline
The aim of the Biomedical Science Department of KIU is to produce Scientists that are capable of confidently working in the Health sector, and contribute something new and important to the world.
Entry Requirements
Three Passes in GCE Advanced Level (A/L) in Bio Science Stream
